Helpful Terminology

  • Lancer: Gundam, giant (usually) human-shaped robot that can be piloted
  • Archangel: Covenant Lancer
  • Mecha: Rudimentary human-shaped robot that can be piloted like mobile workers from IBO. Also more of a general term.
  • Proto-Lancer: Pre-war lancer, not strictly produced by Covenant but specialized and powerful. In current times, exceedingly rare due to deliberate destruction attempts. Includes grunts and certain licenses. Note: The term came after Covenant appeared, so historical records will refer to proto-lancers as Mecha.
  • Mech = general term that covers every type of mech, including mining/construction equipment.
  • Terra Sphere: Earth-Moon-Mars-Colonies supercluster.

Factions

Earth

Represented by the Earth Federation. Half the population remains, some pretty defined socioeconomic differences, many poor people.

  • Earth Federation Forces (EFF): Earth military, complex and encompassing the globe. Individual militaries are considered Dominions, reporting to EFF and Covenant officials

Mars

Split between wealthy immigrants and blue-collar to no-collar workers, partially terraformed.

  • Martian Militia: Grassroots resistance organizations made up of largely blue collar workers repurposing mining equipment. The Militia has eased off some resistance efforts, as neither the EFF and Elites have their best interests in mind.
  • Martian Elites: Want independence from the Earth Federation and monetarily support Militia efforts. One of their reasons for seeking independence is to have full control over Martian supply lines.

Moon

Scientific outpost, outwardly neutral.

  • Lunar Research Base (LRB) : The end result of unsuccessful terraforming attempts. Residents live inside simulated environments. Divided into several sectors with their own responsibilities. No proper militia, and not directly involved with conflict, but rumors allege that certain sects are responsible for weapon R&D.

Space colonies

Originally populated by the wealthy and the lucky who were granted permission to, or were forcibly asked to, immigrate. Now have established a more typical socioeconomic divide.

  • Colony 1: Unknown status.
  • Colony 2: Unknown status.
  • Colony 3: Unknown status.
  • Colony 4: Razed by the EFF. Originally desired to be independent for economic reasons, in addition to wanting to avoid the conflicts happening on Earth. Got involved, and was met with severe retaliation. Was the site of the initial appearence of the Covnenant faction.
  • Colony Militia: Like Mars, but more well off. Have more proto-lancers and mecha at their disposal. Individual militia per colony.

The Covenant

Earth’s militant peacekeeping organization. Ran by Noah Godinho.

  • Dominions: Former militias and military organizations that now answer to the Covenant in addition to their prior allegiances.
  • The Watchers: Elite Lancer pilots. Killed in combat.
